Formed as mutual organisation by four universities in 1992, our membership currently stands at 64, encompassing both large and small institutions in the UK’s Higher Education and Further Education sector.
As we grew from the sector, we have a unique understanding of the challenges of protecting and managing risk in HE and FE – from research and student accommodation, to property and travel security. As a mutual - owned, managed and dedicated to delivering effective cover and solutions to risk for our members - we gain strength by sharing information and spreading best practice in areas such as risk management.
It’s an approach that allows us to self fund a substantial proportion of risks, and utilising traditional and innovative insurance market opportunities.
We are also flexible. We understand that no two institutions will present the same risk profile, so competitive cover can be tailored to meet individual requirements.
